The following is a Q&A with Dan Bolton, Vice President of Corporate Marketing at Nitrogen. Nitrogen became a customer of Summit in early 2023.
Matt (Summit): As your website says, Nitrogen is "The world's first growth platform for wealth management firms." From that position, there are a lot of ways to invest your time and energy when it comes to marketing and sales technology. Why did you choose to prioritize having these return on investment (ROI) apps?
Dan (Nitrogen): We always knew the value of creating calculators and free tools like this, but didn’t have the resources or bandwidth to fully commit to a project of this nature without the help of Summit.
And yes, while there are plenty of potential marketing and sales technology investments we can make, we chose to prioritize building a ROI & Time Savings calculators for the key reason of showing our prospects clear value and providing them with a resource for data-driven decision making.
First, firms in our profession are continuously looking for opportunities to enhance their operational efficiency and generate a stronger return on investment. By demonstrating to our clients, through clear and tangible metrics, how our software can save them time and money, we felt we could offer an immediate, concrete understanding of our value proposition.
And second, the need to provide data-driven resources is increasingly important. Beyond downloads or static content like blog posts and PDF's, these apps provide our customers with a clear, quantifiable measurement of the impact that our growth platform can have on their operations. By making these figures readily available, the team at Summit has allowed our customers to have an additional tool to make informed, empirical decisions about our software.

Matt (Summit): Were there any features of Summit that were must-have during your purchase decision or that delighted you after using them?
Dan (Nitrogen): The platform has a lot of features, but the most important one to us was the ability to white label the product and have it match our brand style guide. It isn’t the easiest feat, but from the initial development of these calculators, the Summit team worked to ensure it all aligned closely with our branding, from fonts, to color, to text sizes, and more, and genuinely looks like we built the product in-house. We aim to design our own software for wealth management firms to be intuitive, modern, and easy to use, and the calculators align with this mission.
Matt (Summit): What teams at Nitrogen Wealth are using the solution?
Dan (Nitrogen): We've deployed these resources across multiple teams including: Marketing, Sales, Customer Support, and Relationship Management. They live on our website for prospective clients, and they’re also a helpful resource for prospects and customers looking to put a number to the growth we provide.
Matt (Summit): What has it been like working with the Summit team?
Dan (Nitrogen): The word that comes to mind is collaborative. The Summit team has been responsive, professional, and it genuinely felt like they tried to immerse themselves in our business during the building process. From setting up a Slack channel for instant communications, to routine emails, and Zoom calls, their communication was excellent. They didn’t feel like a vendor, but a partner. Each member of the team brings a combination of deep technical expertise and strategic thinking that has added significant value, and cut down the time to deployment, of our project.

Dan (Nitrogen): Yes, we’ve received positive initial feedback from our teams and have deployed this as a resource to all prospects and customer-facing employees. It lives as a standalone page to directly send via text or email, while also featuring prominently on our website.
